Honda has officially announced the launch of their reworked Honda CBR650R here in India. The middle-weight sports tourer was previously known as the CBR650F, and has now been introduced as the CBR650R priced at INR 7.70 lakh ex-showroom Pan India. The bike is available for sale across the big bike Honda dealerships.
The 2019 Honda CBR650R is not just a cosmetic update, but even the engine has been reworked. The 649cc, liquid-cooled motor now produces 88.4 HP of power @ 11500 RPM and 60.1 Nm of torque @ 8000 RPM. The model sold on international soil though has a power output of 95 HP and 64 Nm torque. The CBR650R also comes with a slipper clutch and traction control. Traction control can be switched off on the rear wheel.
The 2019 model has the chassis revised with 6 kg reduction in weight. The bike rides on a 41mm Showa Separate Function Fork at the front and a rear monoshock. The bike gets dual front disc brakes with radial-mounted calipers and a single-piston rear caliper with dual-channel ABS. The 4×1 exhaust end can remains the same, and this is the only 4-cylinder sports-tourer motorcycle in its class.
The highlight is the new front end design, which is in sync with the litre-class Fireblade. The 2019 Honda CBR650R gets dual LED headlamps, new front fairing, new body decals, digital LCD instrument console, clip-on handlebars below the top yoke, LED turn indicators, different front windscreen and the likes. The bike was showcased at the 2018 EICMA show in Milan, and is now available in India.
Honda will offer the 2019 CBR650R in red or black paint options.
