Renault India has launched the 2018 Kwid which they call it ‘Feature Loaded’. The updated model has been priced in India at INR 2.66 lakh onwards, and rivals the likes of Datsun redi-Go, Hyundai Eon & Maruti Suzuki Alto. With more than 2.5 lakh units sold till date, the Kwid is Renault’s best selling model and is now available in 8 variants.
The highlight of the Kwid is the SUV-like styling in the budget hatchback space. It comes with features such as 7″ touchscreen infotainment, reverse camera, digital instrument console, lane change indicator, seat belt pretensioners & highest boot capacity in segment of 300L.
The 2018 Renault Kwid is now offered with 4 year / 1 lakh km warranty with RSA for free. This includes 2 years / 50,000 km warranty as standard and an extended warranty of an additional 2 years / 50,000 km.
The top trims of the 2018 Renault Kwid get a new front chrome grille, body coloured bumpers from the mid-level variant onwards, full wheel covers & front fog lamps. The Kwid Climber comes with ‘Climber’ badging, body cladding, bold fog lamp housing, silver & orange accents on the front bumper, roof rails.
Additional features include rear ELR (Emergency Locking Retractor) for all variants. RXL variants now get front power windows, remote locking and the RXT (O) gets rear 12V charging socket, chrome elements around the gear knob along with the Kwid Climber benefitting from a rear arm rest.
Renault claims that the updated Kwid has a Traffic Assist function which allows the car to crawl at slow speeds in traffic situations and prevents rearward rolling.
The Kwid continues to be powered by a 0.8L & 1.0L petrol engine which offers decent drivability and fuel efficiency as per segment standards. The Kwid also comes with an optional AMT gearbox for added convenience.
Driver airbag is standard on the 2018 Kwid.
