150 PS Skoda Slavia sedan prices start at INR 16.19 lakh

Skoda recently launched the new mid-size premium sedan – Slavia in the Indian market. The Czech brand announced that the Skoda Slavia will come with two engine options. But during its debut, the brand only revealed the pricing of the 1.0-litre TSI engine options. Skoda has now announced that the Slavia with the new 1.5-litre TSI engine will come with a starting price of INR 16.19 lakh ex-showroom. The brand also revealed that the Slavia Sedan will come with two gearbox options on the 1.5-litre engine. Manual and DSG Automatic.

Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI – Price and Trims

The Skoda Slavia with the 1.5-litre manual transmission comes with a price tag of INR 16.19 lakh ex-showroom. The DSG automatic variant comes with a sticker price of INR 17.79 lakh ex-showroom. The Skoda Slavia with the 1.5-litre engine is only available in the top-of-the- line Style trim. On the 1.0-litre model, the Slavia is available in three trims – Active (entry-level), Ambition (mid-spec) and Style (fully-loaded).

Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI – Technical Specifications

Powering the Skoda Slavia 1.5-litre TSI is an advanced 1.5-litre EVO-generation, four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The engine produces 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The TSI powerplant is not only powerful but also offers very low fuel consumption returning a claimed mileage of up to 18.72 kmpl. The engine features a variable vane geometry turbocharger that produces more torque at a wider range of engine speeds. The motor cylinders are also plasma coated with 0.15 mm thick layer and replaces cast-iron liners in the cylinder crankcase.

The new cylinder coating not only reduces friction but also the fuel consumption and emission. The technology also reduces the thermal load on the engine. The new engine also comes with the segment-first Active Cylinder Technology (ACT). This has the capability engine automatically shuts down two cylinders under a low load, further reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The engine is also capable of accelerating from a standstill to 100 kmph in just 8.8 seconds.
