125cc Peugeot Pulsion maxi scooter spotted in India

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Mahindra has acquired Peugeot Motorcycles earlier this year, and the brand has been testing multiple products here in India as well from the international Peugeot portfolio. The 125cc Pulsion maxi scooter from Peugeot was recently spotted on Indian soil, but it is unclear if this scooter would ever go on sale in our market. If it does, it would rival the likes of Suzuki Burgman Street 125. Peugeot had launched the Pulsion 125 in 2019 and it is still sold with a Euro 4 engine.

Mahindra might be evaluating the possibility of introducing Peugeot scooters in India. The brand already manufactures the E-Ludix in India, but that product is only exported and not sold here in India. The same could happen with the Pulsion but we would surely like to have a premium scooter for our commuter requirements.

Powering the Peugeot Pulsion is a 124.8cc PowerMotion, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor producing 14.6 BHP of power and 11.9 Nm of torque matched to a CVT automatic gearbox and it also gets fuel-injection. The scooter has a belt drive and a top speed of 108 kmph. The scooter has a fuel tank capacity of 12L which makes it a lot more practical than any other scooter we have on sale in India and it measures 1970mm in length, 760mm in width and 1435mm in wheelbase. The Pulsion comes with ABS and gets a disc brake on both the wheels. The scooter rides on a 37mm telescopic front fork and a double hydraulic rear damper with 5 levels of adjustment.

In terms of features, the Peugeot Pulsion comes with keyless start system, USB charging point, semi-digital speedometer cluster, full face helmet storage, LED DRL, LED tail lamp, large front windscreen, alloy wheels, large contoured seat, pillion grab rail, split design headlamp, etc. The scooter also has bluetooth connectivity via an APP.

If at all Mahindra plans to launch the Peugeot Pulsion scooter in India, it would cost well over INR 1 lakh.
