IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup 2020, is a racing platform aimed to groom the young potential riders of India. In the 2020 edition, 10 young riders in the NSF 250R Honda India Talent Cup where the part of the next-gen riders rode on the Moto3 race machine platform – NSF250R. The CBR 150R category of IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup was the talk of this season with having 13 riders and the youngest one being just 12 years of age.
Honda has not taken any backfoot in terms of safety and introduced the protective airbag vests to safeguard its riders. This was the first time in two-wheeler racing in India that such protective measures were taken care of for the riders. The fastest lap time of the competition was bagged by 15-year old Chennai boy Kavin Quintal with the timing of 1:48:693.
A total of 23 riders took part in the 2020 season and gave some of the mouth-watering races of all time. 10 riders were part of the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup NSF250R and rest 13 were in the CBR150R class race. There was intense competition in the CBR150R category on multiple occasions. The best performers in the CBR150R categories were Vivek Kapadia and Shyam Sundar meanwhile the star racers in the NSF250R category include Kavin Quintal and Varoon S, where the Chennai based boy, Varoon S trailed Kavin by just 0.143 seconds and finished the race being 2nd on the podium with Geoffrey on the 3rd position.
In the IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup CBR150R class it was a photo finish with Shyam Sundar and Vivek Rohit Kapadia where they kept on battling till the last corner. But in the end, Shyam Sundar had to settle for the 2nd position and Vivek Kapadia clinched the 1st position. The youngest rider in the race, Rakshit Dave closed the race by finishing third and also clocked the fastest lap with the timing of 2:05:375. This 2020 season was all about the young guns giving their best and improved on their timing day by day.
