Tata Motors has announced that the 1,00,000th Nexon has rolled-out of its production plant in Ranjangaon. the first vehicle to the roll-out of the facility was in September 2017 and nearly 22 months ago, in such a short time the company has achieved a new milestone. The 1,00,000th roll out confirms that the car is in good demand among compact-SUV buyers in India. In the past 1-year, the car has also achieved the second most sale in its segment.
In the engine department, the Tata Nexon comes in two fuel variants – 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron petrol engine that produces 110 HP of power and 170 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed transmission and the 1.5-litre turbocharged Revotorq diesel producing 110 PS of power and 260 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT gearbox. Both engines come with multidrive modes – Eco, City and Sport
In terms of safety, the car has been rated 5-stars from Global NCAP making it one of the safest cars in the Indian market and Nexon is claimed to be the only car to achieve the rating. The Nexon features a high-strength steel structure that absorbs the impact energy and protects the passenger compartment from deformation, during a collision. Additionally, the car also comes with dual front airbags, seat belt reminder, reverse parking sensor, ABS with EBD, height-adjustable seat belts, voice warnings, ISOFIX child seat anchorage system and more.
In other features, the Tata Nexon comes with a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8-speaker system from Harman, Connect Next app, wearable key and smart push-button start/stop, power steering with steering mounted controls. auto climate control and Flexi seating with 350-litres of boot space.
In terms of competition, the Tata Nexon rivals the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
