Under the EESL agreement with the Government of Gujarat, Tata Motors handed over 10 Nexon EVs. The senior Government officials of the Gujarat Government associated with the Statue Of Unity, located in Kevadiya, Gujarat, will use these EVs. This will also represent the Gujarat Government push for EVs in the state. The Gujarat Government has set up an ambitious target of making Kevadiya, the country’s first e-vehicle only area. Partnerships like these are a testament to the state government dedication towards achieving their target. The first rapid charger has already been installed near the Statue of Unity in association with Tata Power.

‘Tata uniEVerse’ Contribution For Faster EV Adoption

With the growing demand for EVs, the Tata Group has created the ‘Tata uniEVerse’ initiative. This will enable all the Tata Group companies like Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Auto Components, Tata Motors Finance and Croma, to work together in synergy and help in the faster adoption of EVs across the country.

Tata Nexon – India’s Top Selling EV Four-Wheeler

Since its launch, Nexon EV has been quite popular in this segment. Today, there are more than 6,000 Nexon EVs in the country, which contributes to more than 70 per cent of the EV four-wheeler market. In addition to this, Tata Motors has started exporting Nexon EV to Nepal as well. The EV market is picking up pace quite significantly, with more new cars joining the segment.

Tata Motors has also announced that the EV version of the Tigor is on the cards. The carmaker recently teased the sedan. As of now, we know that this new Tigor EV will come with a ZipTron powertrain similar to the one present in Nexon. The sedan will probably have a better range than the current Nexon EV. As it stands, there’s no official statement regarding the specification of the vehicle. But, we can expect Tata Motors to reveal a few details very soon.
