Maruti Suzuki CNG cars sales skyrocket – Why so popular?
As per the latest data, the CNG vehicle sales for Maruti stand at 6.2 lakh alone for the FY2025, out of the total 17,95,259 units sold in FY2025. This makes it the top-selling CNG car brand in India.
In fact, the brand achieved a staggering 28 per cent year-on-year growth in its CNG vehicle sales in the FY2025. Mind you, Maruti sells 13 different models out of its 16 product portfolio, with the CNG powertrain option.
Speaking of the total sales percentage, Maruti standalone has a 71.60 per cent market share in the total CNG vehicle sales. The rest, 16.13 per cent, is owned by Tata CNG cars and 10.04 per cent by Hyundai CNG models.
The main reason behind the popularity of Maruti CNG cars is their reliability, ease of maintenance, availability of original spare parts, and high fuel economy. Maruti’s popular CNG models include: Wagon R, Celerio, Swift, Dzire, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, and XL6.
Maruti Suzuki hybrid car sales report
As per the company’s sales report, 2.4 per cent of the total sales is owned by its strong-hybrid models. The company sells the Grand Vitara and Invicto with the strong-hybrid powertrain option. The total sales of these models in the FY2025 was 20,672 units.

Despite the strong competition from the rival brands, Maruti Suzuki sales keep on rising in India. This is after the fact that the brand sells majority of its vehicles domestically and not export.
