To be launched very, very soon. The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X has been spotted at a dealership. The bike is clearly spotted in production ready guise, and has probably reached as dealer dispatch just a few days ahead of the launch. We’re expecting the bike to be announced in January 2018.

The Thunderbird 500X is obviously based on the standard Thunderbird 500, but is more of an urban styled cruiser. Changes seen include new bright paint options (Blue, Red, White & Yellow), alloy wheels, all-black exhaust, all-black dark theme replacing chrome, new contoured single-piece seat, new pillion grab rail, black painted forks, 500X decals, chrome side panel now painted in chrome, black rear view mirrors, LED DRL & rim stripes.

Mechanically, the Thunderbird 500X is expected to carry on with the same cycle parts. The 500cc, single-cylinder engine producing 27.2 BHP of power and 41.3 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed gearbox. Front & rear disc brakes, and no ABS as of now.

This 500X version of the Royal Enfield Thunderbird is expected to be priced marginally higher than the standard version. Expect on-road pricing to be just a little above INR 2 lakh.

Do you like what you see? Would you spend money to buy the Thunderbird 500X?
