Riding the giant waves

We know we are late for the party. Everyone has already been going crazy about this guy surfing ocean waves on a dirt bike. Well who is this guy and why would he do this?

His name is Robbie Maddison, 34 year old Australian, motocross professional and a stunt bike rider. He was approached by DC shoes, a skate and snowboard brand, to make a small commercial.
But little did he know this 4 minute commercial would get 4 million views in less than 24 hours. The video called ‘Robbie Maddison’s Pipe Dream’ now has more than 11 million views currently and growing!

The teams spent almost 2.5 years testing, building and filming this video! They modified a KTM motorcycle by adding special fins for hydroplaning, made the engine waterproof and gave the bike custom rear tyres that acted as propellers.

No doubt the video is EPIC. They’ve definitely made the time count. It is one of the sickest video’s we’ve seen lately.

In an interview Robbie admitted that he even almost lost his life while performing the stunt. He misjudged a wave and he was trapped under water, and wave after wave kept hitting him for 4 minutes!

But all said and done the video has come out amazingly well and captures the scenic beauty of Teahupoo and Papara. The cinematography and direction is breath taking. So increase the volume, pull the video to full screen and enjoy the video!
