Porsche has launched the 2018 911 GT2 RS in India at prices starting from INR 3.88 crore. The 911 is an iconic sportscar from Porsche, and earlier this year, the brand had also launched the 911 GT3 RS here in India.
The 2018 911 GT2 RS is lighter thanks to the carbin fibre bonnet, front wing under the bumper, new aero ducts, roof made of magnesium and an exhaust made of titanium. This allows the 911 GT2 RS to tip the scale at just 1,470 kg and if you buy the Weissach Package, the weight reduces further by 30 kg thanks to the magnesium alloy rims and a carbon fibre roof.
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS was first revealed at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed. This is claimed to be the most powerful street-legal 911 in the history of the product. Powered by a 3.8L, flat-six petrol engine, the 911 GT2 RS produces 700 HP of power and 750 Nm of torque matched to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox which has been developed specially to handle all this power.
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is a rear wheel drive car, and has a claimed 0-100 kmph sprint time of just 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 340 kmph. At the infamous Nurburgring, the 911 GT2 RS has a timed lap of 6 minutes and 47.3 seconds.
Interiors obviously are plush, and yet sporty. You can find sport seats, alcantara leather upholstery, a large infotainment screen with Porsche connect, 3-spoke steering wheel, flat centre floor console, and all that you would expect from a car in this category.
