Porsche 911 Carrera T – Key Highlights

Mechanicals

The new 911 Carrera T will slot right in between the base Carrera and the higher-spec Carrera S. It uses the same 385hp, 450Nm, 3.0-litre, flat-six turbo-petrol motor from the base Carrera model. The engine promises a 0 to 100 kmph sprint in 4.5 seconds. Meanwhile, the top speed is set at 291kmph. But noteworthy to mention it does borrow a few mechanical upgrades from the higher Carrera S.

The 911 Carrera T equips a mechanical rear differential lock from the Carrera S. These can also be optionally specced with rear-wheel steering, which is reserved for variants from Carrera S and above. This specific trim is also 35kg lighter than the base Carrera with an automatic gearbox. All thanks to the removal of rear seats, reduced insulation and lightweight glass, thus resulting in weight loss. Like the rest of the Carrera line-up, the Carrera T also come with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Power is fed to the rear wheels.

Furthermore, the two-seater sports car also features stiffer front and rear anti-roll bars, and firmer and shorter springs. Porsche 911 Carrera T also gets significantly raised spring rates for improved on-road performance. The car rides on 20-inch and 21-inch wheels (front and rear) finished in Titanium Grey. Porsche has also utilised less sound insulation, thus making the six-cylinder sound more alive and present in the cockpit.

Key Features

Other key mentions of the 911 Carrera T include four-way adjustable sports plus seats and a GT Sport steering wheel. Furthermore, the front and rear badges, outside mirrors, and door decals get the Agate Grey shade.  Whereas the exhaust tips get a gloss black finish. On the other hand, the interior adorns the matte black and gloss black tones.
