Orxa Mantis launched in India at INR 3.6 lakh, 221 km range

Orxa Energies announced that the brand has started accepting bookings on its flagship electric motorcycle, Mantis. The electric vehicle manufacturer also revealed the price and all the technical specification on the Mantis electric motorcycle. The Orxa Mantis comes with a price tag of INR 3.6 lakh ex-showroom, Bangalore. Interested parties can book the Orxa Mantis EV through the brand’s official website.

What is the Orxa Mantis EV?

Orxa describes the Mantis electric motorcycle as “the Ultimate Street Predator”. The EV comes with a sharp front end aerodynamic body panels and a futuristic design language. According to Orxa, the brand is using its experience from the field of Defence and Aerospace to derive the new electric motorcycle. The brand is offering the Mantis with two colour themes – Urban Black and Jungle Grey.

Orxa Mantis – The Concept

Back in 2016, Orxa introduced the Mantis concept which was sonorous with the Stealth and Speed design language. It was only in 2019, when the brand revealed Mantis to the public at the India Bike Week 2019. During the pandemic, Orxa went back to the drawing board to focus on weight optimisation. The brand was already working on honeycomb composite materials, however, the Mantis managed to further lose a whopping 25 kilograms.

Orxa Mantis – Top Features

The company claims that the production version of the Orxa Mantis utilises a fully cast aerospace-grade all-aluminium frame. Also, the brand is offering an IP67 rated battery case and an advanced Battery Management System with dual-redundant thermal management. Orxa also offers a fully digital TFT instruments cluster, 182 kg kerb weight and 180mm of ground clearance.

Orxa Mantis – Technical Specifications

The Orxa Mantis comes powered by a High power density liquid cooled BLDC electric motor with a peak power of 20.5 kW (27.5 hp). The Liquid Cooled motor produces 93 Nm of peak torque matched to an 8.9 kWh battery pack. The brand claims that the electric motorcycle is capable of achieving an acceleration of 0-20 kmph in just 2.7 seconds and 0-100 kmph in just 8.9 seconds. The IDC estimated range is also claimed at 221 km on a single charge. The brand also offers a 1.3 kW charger with the Orxa Mantis electric motorcycle as standard.
