New Honda Africa Twin coming soon to India, patent filed

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Honda has filed patents for a new Honda Africa Twin in India. Honda recently launched the 2024 Africa Twin which gets new updates to its front fascia as well as the panels. The Adventure Sports trim also comes with 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, which was quite polarising for Africa Twin lovers. The brand also improved the power figures ever so slightly in the MY24 model. Now, Honda could be planning to bring the motorcycle to the Indian market, where the adventure touring segment is booming.

2024 Honda Africa Twin – Patents Filed in India

Honda has filed patents for the side fairing and overall design of the 2024 Honda Africa Twin in India. According to reports, the brand could be exercising its right to protect its intellectual property in the country and may not bring the motorcycle here. The brand has also filed patents for the Honda CBR250RR sportsbike, Honda Hawk 11 Cafe Racer and Forza 350 Maxi Scooter in India.

However, the Japanese company hasn’t added any of these to their portfolio. However, this is not the case with the Africa Twin. The brand is already retailing the Africa Twin in the Indian market and has quite a good response. This leads us to believe that the brand is likely to bring the update to Indian roads. The brand could include the new Adventure Sports trim with the smaller front wheels and a road friendlier option.

2024 Honda Africa Twin – What’s New?

Powering the 2024 Honda Africa Twin is a 1083cc liquid-cooled Unicam parallel-twin engine. The updated engine now produces 112 Nm of torque 7 Nm more than the earlier motor. The brand has also increased the compression ratio of the motorcycle as well as the fine tuned the DCT transmission as well. In addition to this, the brand also employs a redesigned fairing and offers a 5-step adjustable windscreen.

Will Honda bring the motorcycle to India? is still a question.
