Mitsubishi opens bookings for new Outlander in India

Just when you thought there’s nothing more Mitsubishi has to offer, the Japanese brand has announced that bookings are now open for the new Outlander SUV in India. This is an all-new Outlander, and the previous model was discontinued in India in 2013. The new Outlander will be launched soon, with deliveries expected to commence from next month.

Powering the Outlander will be a single petrol engine options. The Outlander will come with a 2.4L, DOHC, MIVEC, 4-cylinder, 16-valve motor producing 167 PS of power @ 6000 RPM and 222 Nm of torque @ 4100 RPM. The engine will come matched to a CVT gearbox with paddle shifts.

True to the Mitsubishi SUV DNA, the Outlander will also come with a Multi Select 4WD system, electrically controlled with AWD Auto, 4WD Eco & 4WD Lock modes.

In terms of safety features, the Outlander will come with 7 airbags, ABS + EBD, Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Auto Headlamps, Brake Assist along with front & rear impact bars. Exterior features include LED headlamp & tail lamp, LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, chrome grille, chrome accents on bumpers, 16″ alloy wheels, body cladding and shark fin antenna. On the inside, you have a Rockford stereo system, touchscreen infotainment, climate control, 3-row seating, leather upholstery and more…

With barely any dealer network to reach out to the audience who is looking for a petrol SUV, Mitsubishi has a challenge in generating sales numbers.
