Rolls-Royce has revealed the new flagship model, the next-generation Phantom. This luxury limousine will go on sale worldwide in the months to come, and was in development for almost half a decade. This is the 8th generation of Phantom cars sold by Rolls-Royce and is based on the new aluminium spaceframe chassis.

The new Phantom measures 5,762mm in length, 2,018mm in width, 1,646mm in height and has a wheelbase of 3,552m. A longer wheelbase version with +200mm will be revealed later.

Powering this pinnacle of luxury on wheels is a 6.75L, Twin-Turbo, V12 motor producing 570 HP of power and 900 Nm of torque matched to an automatic gearbox which allows it to sprint from 0-100 kmph in 5.3 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.

Rolls-Roycle claims that this new Phantom is the new benchmark of comfort, luxury & style. Also, with the new chassis, the rigidity of the vehicle has gone up by 30% compared to the older model. So the magic carpet like ride quality has now become even better.

New suspension, new axles, new 48V electrical architecture with active stabiliser, 4-wheel steering enhance the driving dynamics. For comfort and low NVH, Rolls-Royce has used a total of 130 kg of sound-deadening material. With thicker glass windows, the Phantom is 60 dB quieter than the older model at 100 kmph.
