Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming all-new MPV could retail with the ‘Invicto’ nameplate. We say this as per the latest carmaker’s latest BSE filing. The Invicto will arrive on the market on July 5. We are that this is Maruti Suzuki’s version of the Innova Hycross. This unit will be manufactured and supplied by Toyota. It will become Maruti’s new flagship model in the Indian market, thus sitting at the top of the carmaker’s line-up.

Maruti Invicto MPV Details We Have Till Now

Spy pictures of the Maruti Invicto are already available online. Thus, giving us a look at the Innova Hycross’ sibling ahead of its launch next month. In order to differentiate it from its Toyota counterpart, the Maruti Invicto is using brand-specific styling tweaks. We can see a new front bumper and grille, along with new headlamps and tail-lamp inserts. There’s also a unique alloy wheel design. On the inside, we expect to see minor tweaks to the upholstery and features list.

Maruti had confirmed earlier that the Invicto will become a low-volume product for the brand. This will essentially showcase “carbon-friendly hybrid tech”. Given the fact, there’s a long waiting period for the Innova Hycross. It is interesting to see how Toyota allocates units for Maruti. This is because both the Innova Hycross and the Invicto will use the same manufacturing line. But, the good news is that Toyota, however, has recently added a third shift at its facility in order to clear the order backlog.

Maruti Invicto MPV Key Details

Maruti Suzuki will equip this SUV with the same powertrain options on the Invicto as the Toyota Innova Hycross. Thus, higher variants will, of course, get the 183 HP, 2.0-litre hybrid powertrain. This should translate to Innova Hycross’ levels of fuel economy of around  13 to 16 kmpl in the real world. Maruti will most likely also offer the 173 HP, 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to a CVT gearbox.

The Invicto will continue with the same seven- and eight-seater configuration as the Innova Hycross. Upon launch next month, the Invicto will lock its horns against the likes of the Hycross and the Kia Carnival positioned just a little higher.
