Maruti Suzuki Dzire dominating the segment

Maruti Suzuki’s newest kid on the block third generation Dzire is set to be another game changer model for the company and industry. While bringing volume it has expanded the segment volume too. The third generation Dzire is increasingly becoming more Dzireable and helping Maruti to re-write its pecking order with all new Dzire.

In 2008-09, there were 4 players in the entry-level sedan segment and Dzire accounted for 41% market share in the segment. In 2016-17, the number of players in the entry-level sedan segment have shot up to 11, while Dzire’s market share has shot up to 50%. Dzire achieved the fastest 1 lakh sales in Indian automobile industry in five-and-half months Who is the buyer? The average MHI of customer has also increased. Now, more affluent families are opting for Dzire. Among the top three reasons, it is the looks of the Dzire that have made it a runaway success.
