Mahindra launches Mojo UT300 for INR 1.49 lakh

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Mahindra has officially announced the launch of a new Mojo variant, the UT300. The Mojo UT300 is cheaper than the previously launched Mojo XT300. The new stripped down motorcycle has been priced at INR 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Also, as a part of an additional discount in the launch period, the new Mojo UT300 will actually cost you INR 1.39 lakh, Rs. 10,000 will be added from April 2018.

The new Mahindra Mojo UT300 looks identical to the older Mojo, but sees plenty of omissions to bring down the costs. After being spotted more than a year back as a prototype, the new Mojo UT300 will try to attract Royal Enfield buyers with what it has to offer as a tourer.

Powering the Mojo UT300 is the same 292cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. However, the fuel-injector from the more expensive model is replaced here with a carburettor and the motor now produces 22.79 HP of power and 25.2 Nm of torque. The more expensive version produces 26.8 HP & 30 Nm. So clearly, the cheaper model is noticeably underpowered.

A few noticeable feature omissions on the cheaper Mojo UT300:

  • USD fork replaced with telescopic unit
  • Twin exhaust pipes now changed to a single exhaust
  • Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres replaced by MRF compound
  • No LED DRLs
  • No gold painted accents

Will this result in incremental sales for the Mahindra Mojo. We doubt.
