LIVE! 10th Generation Honda Civic launched in India

This is thr 10th generation of the Honda Civic sedan which has been launched today. The Civic sedan was discontinued nearly 6 years back, and the D1 segment executive sedan is making a comeback in a more sporty avatar. The Honda Civic rivals the likes of Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia & Toyota Corolla Altis.

The new 2019 Honda Civic, the 10th generation model has been launched at INR 17.69 lakh ex-showroom all-India.

The Honda Civic for 2019 comes in a petrol and diesel engine option. The 1.8L, 4-cylinder, i-vtec petrol produces 141 PS of power and 174 Nm of torque matched only to a CVT gearbox delivering 16.5 kmpl mileage. The diesel Civic, a first for the Indian market comes with a 1.6L i-dtec motor producing 120 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque matched only to a 6-speed manual gearbox and delivering 26.8 kmpl of mileage.

CVT only as a gearbox option for the petrol engine is based on customer demand. This will deliver smooth, jerk-free driving experience. The Diesel manual comes with a dual-mass flywheel. The new Civic platform has weight reduction of 22kg while being 25% more stiffer than the previous model.

The 10th gen Honda Civic also gets a remote engine starting function from a distance of up to 10 meters.

Rear seats of the Honda Civic offer the highest legroom in the segment. For India, the ground clearance has improved by 20mm in the front and 15mm in the rear.

The new generation Civic for India is bigger and better. The Civic is now available in all Honda showrooms.

The Civic will be sold in 5 colours with a new pearl white paint scheme by the brand, radiant red being the promotional colour. The Civic has scored ASEAN NCAP rating of 5-stars.

Standard warranty of 3 year / unlimited km. Average yearly maintenance cost for the Civic will be INR 4,953.

The Civic has been in the global markets since 46 years, and has seen 10 generations built so far. The Civic is sold in 170 countries and over 25 million Civic cars have been sold so far. Honda Civic is a special car in the hearts of enthusiasts here in India. The Civic was first introduced in India in 2006 in the 8th generation Avatar. However, the 9th gen model did not make it to our market due to the diminishing interest in the segment and the growth of the SUV space.
