Earlier this month, KTM revealed the all-new Duke 790 which would go on sale worldwide by early next year. Now, rumours are doing the rounds that this sharp & edgy middle-weight superbike could also be launched in India. However, this would not happen anytime before 2019.

Now, the official price of the KTM Duke 790 has been revealed. The bike costs £8,199 – which is close to INR 7 lakh for A2 version and £8,499 for others. Now this pricing is fantastic compared to rivals such as the Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple & Yamaha MT-09. Now since the competition is already present in India, we expect KTM to up their game and get into the higher capacity segment.

If the KTM Duke 790 is ever launched in India, it will be introduced as a CKD product. So pricing is expected to be competitive.

Powering the KTM Duke 790 is a 799cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, Euro-4 compliant motor producing 103.3 BHP of power @ 9000 RPM and 86.09 Nm of torque @ 8000 RPM matched to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper & assist clutch.

The Duke 790 has a dry weight of just 169 kg, which will give it a power-to-weight edge over its competition. Also, the seat height is very accessible at 825mm.

Other features on the motorcycle include cornering ABS, supermoto mode, lean angle based traction control, quickshifter, launch control, riding modes, ABS, KTM MY RIDE, etc.
