Kia shares teaser for Sportage SUV, but will it come to India?

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Kia Motors India is getting set to launch their first car for our market, based on the SP2 concept which was showcased earlier this year. Codenamed as the SP2i, this SUV is based on the Hyundai Creta and will be priced in that range as well. However, the brand has now shared a new teaser video which showcases the Sportage SUV.

BUT! There has been no communication yet if the Sportage SUV will be launched in India. This teaser also does not directly suggest so. The Sportage is a cousin to the Hyundai Tucson, and will share components and engines with the Hyundai sibling. The Kia Sportage looks every bit premium, to suit the Indian markets love for SUVs, and could do well for the brand. Pricing of course is the key.

This could possibly be the second car to be launched here in India.

The Kia Sportage comes loaded with features such as LED DRLs, fog lamps, touchscreen infotainment, climate control, 16″ rims, cruise control, multiple airbags, ESC, EBD, Hill Hold, and more.
