Jeep Compass crosses 25,000 production milestone in India

The Jeep Compass is slowly and steadily becoming quite a success story in India. The Made-in-India Jeep Compass has just crossed the 25,000 production milestone in our country, and is also the best selling car as per the segment standards. Redefining the way forward for brand Jeep in India, the Compass has been accepted well by the masses.

With more than 65% localised parts, the Jeep Compass surpassed the 25,000 unit production in February 2018. Also, the brand has started exporting the SUV to international right-hand drive markets since October 2018. Till now, the brand has shipped over 5,000 units of the Jeep Compass to markets including Australia, Japan & United Kingdom.

Jeep launched the Compass SUV in India on July 31st, 2017. The first car to roll out from the brands production line was on June 1st, 2017. The SUV is available in 3 variants – Sport, Longitude & Limited.

Powering the Compass diesel is a 2.0L, Multijet II motor producing 173 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. The petrol Jeep Compass gets a 1.4L Multiair motor producing 163 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. Both engines come matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The petrol Compass also has an option of a DCT automatic gearbox.
