While many are excited about the comeback of the Santro nameplate in India, which is expected to happen at the Auto Expo 2018; rumours are also doing the rounds that Hyundai is also working on a small A-segment crossover to rival the Renault Kwid.
With the market showing no signs of slowing down with its love for SUVs, a crossover & bold looking styling on a budget hatchback is only expected to increase the appeal of the product more. And hence, more sales.
Hyundai has codenamed the car as AH2, which will rival the new Maruti Suzuki Alto & the Renault Kwid. It is unknown if this AH2 crossover version would just be a tricked out, more body cladding version of the Santro hatchback which is expected.
No details on the engine & other specifications are available as of now. The launch though is expected to happen in 2018, along with a facelift version of the popular Hyundai Elite i20.
