Honda is planning to launch new cars in the Indian market in the next 3 years, and 6 of them. One interesting product would be the comeback of the Civic sedan which was discontinued due to the slowing sales of the D1 segment sedans.

Honda currently has no sedan positioned between the City & the Accord and would like to bring back the Civic. But this would not happen soon, and could take 1-2 years from now.

The Civic was on sale in India from 2006 till 2013, and only in its 8th generation avatar. It also got a facelift, but due to the shift to demand for SUVs in our market, it was eventually discontinued.

The Civic is a much loved car here in India. It also remains a favourite in the used car market as of now.

The new Civic could also come with a diesel engine option. So apart from a petrol powered car, customers would have an option to choose an efficient oil burner.

Once launched, it will rival the likes of Toyota Corolla, Skoda Octavia & Hyundai Elantra. The Civic though would be the most sportiest at least in the looks department. Will it be able to steal the show in the segment with top sales? Time will tell.
