Tata Motors is still carrying on with their marketing strategy to share smaller but significant details of the upcoming Harrier SUV, previously known as the H5X. The Harrier from Tata Motors is going to be powered by an all-new 2.0L Kryotec diesel engine. This engine is however not new to us, we’ve seen this 2.0L Multijet motor in Fiat group cars. This is a 4-cylinder Multijet diesel engine shared with the Jeep Compass.

Expected to produce around 140 HP of power, this Kryotec diesel motor of the Harrier is said to be inspired from the Cryogenic rocket engine. The brand reveals that the engine is benchmarked against other global cars. It will also get an exhaust after treatment system which will reduce the carbon emissions.

Just like other latest cars, the Tata Harrier will get Multi Drive modes. There will also be Terrain Response Modes along with ESP on the Harrier. The 2.0L Kryotec motor will get an eVGT to deliver strong performance and good fuel economy.

The Harrier will be launched in early 2019.
