The Latin NCAP crash tests were recently updated, and the new Ford Figo twins, the hatchback & the sedan version were put through a crash test. This time, both the cars scored 0 stars while in 2015, as per those standards, the cars had scored 4 stars.

Both cars were now put through a new side impact test. This revealed that the structural rigidity for such an accident was poor, and the occupants would suffer sever injuries. There was very little side impact protection on both the hatchback & sedan variants. You can see in the video that the doors popped out from the frame which could prove fatal. These cars lacked side airbags.

In the frontal crash test, the chest & thigh protection for the front occupants was found to be less than adequate.

Both cars though did score 3 stars for child occupant safety.
