So, the good news is that finally we have a potent entry-level adventure tourer in our market. Kawasaki has just launched the Versys X-300 which will be available pan-India. The sad news though is that this bike will cost INR 4.6 lakh ex-showroom. This makes it very close to the pricing of the Versys 650, which obviously is a better choice overall.
The Kawasaki Versys X-300 is locally assembled at the brands new plant at Chakan in Pune.
Powering the Kawasaki Versys X-300 is a 296cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor producing 38.5 BHP of power and 27 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Versys X-300 comes equipped with ABS as standard coupled with a single front & rear disc brake. The bike runs on 19″ front wheels & a 17″ rear with the front suspension being a 41mm telescopic setup and a rear monoshock which is preload adjustable.
For long touring range, the Versys X-300 comes with a 17L fuel tank.
The Versys X-300 has the first mover advantage in the segment. The KTM Adventure 390 is not even ready yet while the BMW G 310 GS is still almost a year away from an Indian debut.
But, would you buy this overpriced motorcycle?
