EICMA 2017 – Ducati reveals new Multistrada 1260

One of the most loved adventure tourers has now received a massive update. Ducati has revealed the new Multistrada 1260 which will go on sale globally in the coming weeks. The new Multistrada 1260 will be available in 4 variants – Standard, S, D-AIR & Pikes Peak.

Powering all variants of the new Ducati Multistrada 1260 is a 1,262cc, Testastretta DVT, Euro 4 ready motor producing 158 HP of power @ 9500 RPM and 129.5 Nm of torque @ 7500 RPM matched to a 6-speed gearbox.

Electronic features includes Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), Riding Modes, Power Modes, Ducati Safety Pack (Bosch Cornering ABS + DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC). Cruise control standard on all variants.

Other features include LED lights with cornering function, Bosh IMU, Ducati Skyhook Suspension, LED tail lamps, reprofiled body panels, and the likes. The Multistrada has always been known for its versatility, and the new 1260 is expected to set the bar higher for competition.

The Multistrada 1260 gets a trellis chassis with 2 lateral subframes & an aluminium single sided swingarm. The bike has 55 mm longer wheelbase than before and the steering angle is now to 25 degrees. This is expected to make the bike more stable.

There’s more model specific add on features on the new Multistrada 1260.

Expect this version to hit the Indian showrooms by the first half of 2018.
