Maruti Suzuki has revealed that their popular C2 segment sedan, the Ciaz has become the best-seller in its segment. With over 24,000 units of the Ciaz sold since April-September 2018-19, the Ciaz has moved ahead of rivals such as Honda City, Hyundai Verna & Toyota Yaris. The Ciaz facelift was launched in August 2018 and got over 10,000 bookings in the first month itself.
Ciaz leads the segment in the first half of this fiscal year.
Powering the Ciaz facelift is an all-new 1.5L petrol engine with SHVS smart hybrid technology. Also, you get the familiar 1.3L diesel motor on offer as well. You get an automatic gearbox option for the petrol Ciaz and the diesel has to make do with just a manual now. However, a new diesel engine is expected to make a debut soon on the Ciaz.
Maruti Suzuki also revealed that the Nexa Blue colour of the Ciaz accounts for 25% of total sales.
Since its launch, the Ciaz has managed sales of over 2,34,000 units. It is currently sold via Nexa showrooms.
