BMW reveals new X7 SUV, coming to India

BMW X7 is now official. This new BIG SUV from the German car manufacturer will be built in USA and is expected to hit showrooms around the end of Q1 2019. The X7 will become the flagship SUV for the luxury car brand and will surely head to India in 2019-20.

The BMW X7 has a large footprint. It measures 5151mm in length, 2000mm in width, 1805mm in height, 3105mm in wheelbase, 326L boot space with 3 rows up and 83L fuel tank.

The X7 will come with plenty of engine options:

  • 3.0L, 6-cylinder petrol producing 335 BHP and 450 Nm
  • 4.4L, V8 petrol producing 456 BHP and 650 Nm
  • 3.0L, 6-cylinder diesel producing 261 BHP and 620 Nm
  • 3.0L QuadTurbo, 6-cylinder motor producing 394 BHP and 760 Nm

All engines will be matched to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with AWD and off-road package adding 4 modes – Gravel, Rock, Snow & Sand.

Typical of new BMW cars, the new X7 also has a XL sized kidney grille, new LED headlamp design with optional BMW laserlight headlamp, skid plates, 20-22″ wheel options, chrome accents, body cladding, bold shoulder line, LED wrap around tail lamps, roof rails, chrome exhaust tips, spoiler and multiple aero ducts.

Inside you get a 3-spoke steering wheel, dual tone interiors, dual 12.3″ screens for driver display and infotainment, 6 / 7 seat layout, electric seats, folding 2nd & 3rd row, leather upholstery, 4-zone climate control, Bowers & Wilkins audio, M Sport package and the likes.

The new X7 rides on air suspension, which helps vary the ground clearance by a generous 80mm.
