The highly anticipated and much, much awaited motorcycles from BMW Motorrad, the G 310 R & G 310 GS were launched in India today. Developed in Munich by BMW, and manufactured by TVS Motors here in India, both these bikes are on sale across all BMW Motorrad showrooms from today.

The BMW Motorrad G 310 GS has been priced at INR 2.99 lakh and the G 310 GS has been priced at INR 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Yes, the G 310 R is noticeably more expensive than the KTM Duke 390 and also, we now have a reference point that the new KTM 390 Adventure will surely be priced under INR 3.49 lakh on-road.

Powering the BMW G 310 R & G 310 GS is a 313cc, water-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke motor producing 34 HP of power @ 9500 RPM and 28 Nm of torque @ 7500 RPM matched to a 6-speed gearbox. BMW claims that these bikes can sprint from 0-50 kmph in 2.5 seconds and have a top speed of 143 kmph. Both bikes are built around a tubular steel chassis with a bolt-on rear frame and you get an aluminium swing arm. At the front you have USD forks while there is a rear monoshock in place.

Both bikes come with dual-channel ABS as standard and a full digital instrument console. Both the bikes are available in red, black or white paint options.

Although sharing nearly every functional component, BMW Motorrad has done well in the design differentiation. The G 310 R is a typical street-naked roadster motorcycle while the G 310 GS poses as an adventure tourer with its go-anywhere abilities.

BMW Motorrad is offering 3 years / unlimited km warranty as standard on the G 310 R & G 310 GS.
