With the response that the brand received at the Auto Expo 2018, Piaggio is now convinced that the Aprilia RS 150 & Tuono 150 could do pretty well in the Indian market. The brand showcased these motorcycles to gauge market response, and motorcycle enthusiasts have shown a good amount of interest to which Piaggio reveals that these bikes will be built in India.

Powering the Aprilia RS 150 & Tuono 150 is a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 150cc motor producing 18 HP of power and 14 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. What’s exciting is that these bikes will also come with an optional quickshifter and have ABS offered as standard.

When launched, the Aprilia RS 150 & Tuono 150 will be in the market to rival the likes of Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0.

Also, Aprilia is planning to enter the mid-size premium motorcycle market. The brand reveals that the 250cc – 400cc category is something that they are eyeing in the long term. No update on the type of products for now, but we can expect a supersport model for sure to rival the likes of KTM RC 390 & Yamaha YZF-R3.

Piaggio claims that these new motorcycles will have a high level of locally manufactured content to keep pricing under check. For now, no timeline has been shared as to when these bikes will hit the streets. Nevertheless, a positive news for enthusiasts.
