Based on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform, Toyota has launched the all-new Camry in India priced at INR 36.95 lakh. The Camry will be sold in a hybrid powertrain option only and will rival the likes of Honda Accord Hybrid, and the non-hybrid competition such as the Skoda Superb and Volkswagen Passat.
The new Camry Hybrid is cheaper than the old model by rougly INR 50,000, which makes it an interesting hybrid sedan proposition in the segment.
Unlike any other Toyota car launched so far, the new Camry Hybrid is the most dynamic looking product from the brand yet. With the latest design philosophy, the Camry Hybrid does not look boring at all. Exterior features include all LED lighting, sporty bumpers, bold crease lines, wide air dam, chrome accents on window sills, multi-spoke alloy wheels, chrome door handles, sunroof, raised boot lip and more…
On the inside, you have leather upholstery, 3-zone climate control, JBL audio system, touchscreen infotainment, power reclining rear seats, electric front seats, HUD, ventilated seats and more…
Powering the new Camry Hybrid is a 2.5L petrol motor producing 178 HP of power and 221 Nm of torque matched to an electric motor which adds 120 HP of power. The total system output for the Camry Hybrid in 2019 is 218 HP and the engine comes matched to a CVT automatic gearbox. Toyota claims that the 2019 Camry Hybrid can deliver 23.27 kmpl of mileage.
For safety, the car gets 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, stability control, ISOFIX and other basics.
