750cc Royal Enfield motorcycles to launch in 2025

Written by Kanad Kalasur

Royal Enfield has been working on the new 650cc range of motorcycles. But, now according to a media report, the company has already started working to get into the 750cc segment. A new platform codenamed R is expected to spawn multiple 750cc bikes from 2025.

First Royal Enfield 750cc bike

The first motorcycle to come out from this project is codenamed R2G. It will be a 750cc Bobber. The bike is being developed after taking feedback for the company;s key markets including India, Europe, North America and the UK. The main development is underway at the tech centre in Leicester, UK. This new Bobber could be the flagship bike from the Royal Enfield stable for years to come.

According to a media report, the new 750cc engine is based on the current parallel-twin 650cc motor. This has been planned to cater to international markets like Europe and North America. In such markets, a 750cc bike could be slotted in the midst of the large-engined premium segment. It will also provide an upgrade path to the existing Royal Enfield owners of 350-500cc bikes.

With this new engine, the company plans to launch multiple products. Just like the 350cc and the new 450 or the 650 platforms, the 750cc too will spawn a slew of bikes catering to a wide range of audience.

Competition from Triumph and Harley Davidson

The Indian market saw two important launches in recent days. The Bajaj Triumph and the Hero Harley Davidson joint ventures have come out with smaller displacement motorcycles to cater to a larger segment. This is largely the market of the Royal Enfield. Hence, the larger bike could be seen as a way to diversify its portfolio as well as compete with other international brands in the local market.
