Currently, Honda does have a CR-V on sale in our market. But, the brand is set to introduce the new 5th generation of the CR-V SUV in our market, and, with a diesel engine for the very first time. Showcased at the Indian Auto Expo 2018, the new CR-V with a diesel powerplant will be launched in 2018-19.

Sold in over 160 countries and with over 9.4 million unit sales on its name, the CR-V is a popular global SUV.

Along with a diesel engine, the CR-V will also get a gasoline (petrol) motor for our market. This will allow Honda to appeal to a wider range of buyers at different price points. Talking about the engines, the petrol CR-V will have a 2.4L unit while the diesel motor will be a 1.6L block producing 160 HP of power. Both engines are expected to come with manual and automatic gearbox options.

The new 5th gen Honda CR-V will get new LED headlamp & tail lamp, LED DRLs, new front grille, new alloy wheels, all-new interior theme, 7-seater layout, and more.

When launched, the new Honda CR-V along with a diesel engine will pick up a fight with the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the upcoming Mahindra / SsangYong Rexton G4.

How much would you be willing to pay for the new CR-V? We expect pricing to be in the range of INR 25 lakh onwards.
