The 5th edition of Maruti Suzuki Autocross event held at the Autocar Performace Show in Mumbai saw over 150 entries in two days.
Speaking on the successful edition of Autocross in Mumbai, Mr. Manohar Bhat, Vice President, Marketing, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “Maruti Suzuki Autocross has become the place where aspiring racers put their driving skills to the test. With only 5 years down, we are overwhelmed with the warm welcome and immense participation witnessed in Mumbai. Autocross has given unparalleled rallying experience to participants year-after-year. With over 150 entries this season, we look forward to seeing tremendous growth in Indian motorsports.”
Autocross is also open to all manufacturers and gives an opportunity to all motorsport enthusiasts to test their driving skills. In this driving skill contest, participants got a chance to test and showcase their motoring skills and the car’s handling characteristics in a secured environment that includes hair pin bends and sharp turns. The final task was to complete 3 laps of a 750 metre track as opposed to a 500 metre track for the qualifiers, in the shortest time possible.
