Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Tata Motors’ most popular offering is the Nexon. Recently it crossed the 5,00,000 unit production milestone. The compact SUV has achieved this significant milestone in just 67 months. With the massive demand for SUVs in the market, Nexon is performing pretty well. This is the case for both ICE as well as the electric segment, where Nexon is currently leading the sales charts.

Tata Nexon Is The Most Sold Compact SUV For The Indian Market

Recently, the 5,00,000th Nexon rolled out from Tata Motors’ Ranjangaon plant. This is six years after its launch which happened on September 21, 2017. Given the massive demand for the compact SUV lately. Nexon is currently India’s best-selling compact SUV and mass-market EV. Thus it is not surprising to see Nexon breaking these milestone records so fast. And hence that the timeline for successive production milestones also keeps getting shorter.

Sales Getting Strong For Nexon Thick And Fast

The last 1,00,000 unit sales have come up in just six-and-a-half months. This is a fortnight less than what it took to achieve the 4,00,000 unit record, and 45 days less than what it took to record the 3,00,000 mark. The 3,00,000th unit of the Nexon came into production on February 28, 2022. This is eight months after the 2,00,000th unit, which itself was produced 46 months after the compact SUV’s launch.

Tata Nexon The Road Ahead

The Nexon is currently available in as many as 69 variants. Of which 47 petrol, 10 diesel and 12 electric. Customers also get to choose from automatic and manual transmission gearbox options, depending on the powertrain. Going forward, sources claim that upgrades will be coming for the Nexon EV in the coming weeks. In fact, there’s also a major facelift in the works for the entire line-up. The facelifted Nexon will share a lot of styling elements inside out with the Curvv SUV. We expect the facelift update to go on sale later this year.
