Spotted testing yet again on Indian soil, this is the upcoming Audi A5 Sportback. Do note, this car is still to make a global debut, and will be revealed to in the coming weeks. The A5 was already teased by Audi in official camouflaged images, but it was a 3-door model. What was seen on Indian soil was a 5-door sportback version.

The car imported to India is powered by a 1,998cc TDI diesel engine producing 190 PS & 400 Nm. There is no concrete news that this model will go on sale in India, as Audi usually benchmarks Indian road conditions as a part of their testing procedure for global models.

Both the 3-door and 5-door versions of car are based on the new MLB platform. This platform will also be shared with the new generation A4 sedan.

The sportback design was already seen on the likes of A7, but is a bit shorter towards the rear. It looks to compete with the likes of BMW 3-Series GT. This is for the 5-door version though. The 3-door A5 sportback will have a much more sloping silhouette towards the rear.

This test car was spotted being driven towards Mumbai on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway.
