2nd generation Renault (Dacia) Duster doesn’t look all-new

While Renault has officially announced the launch of the Captur SUV here in India, its budget brand Dacia has taken the wraps off the all-new 2nd generation Duster SUV, which doesn’t really look all that different. Taking a rather evolutionary approach, the new Duster is not drastically different from the current version, which some might not really like.

The new Duster makes use of the same chassis, and is almost similar in overall dimensions. No no 7-seater version coming anytime soon. Cabin space might be improved, but still will seat only 5 occupants.

The 2018 Duster will come with a new front grille, new headlamp & tail lamps, square wheel arches, snazzy alloy wheels, larger roof rails, body cladding, skid plates and a few different crease lines. When parked side by side, some might consider the new version to actually be a tastefully modified Duster rather than a completely new generation model.

The Duster has found over a million customers since 2010 worldwide, and still remains a popular budget SUV. Although interiors have not been revealed, we’re hoping things are much more premium and ergonomic than before, which was a problem with the old Duster.

For India, expect the same 1.5L diesel motor to be sold in 85 PS & 110 PS versions.

Expect the new model to be showcased to the Indian audience sometime in 2018.
