2023 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition AEROX 155 launched in India at INR 1,48,300

India Yamaha Motor has announced a new variant of the Aerox 155 scooter. The 2023 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition Aerox 155 is priced at INR 1,48,300, ex-showroom Delhi. The scooter comes with MotoGP livery as well as a new headlamp that offers improved visibility on the road.

What’s new in the 2023 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition Aerox 155?

This special edition commemorates the Yamaha’s MotoGP team. The bike gets Monster Energy and Yamaha decals. Further, the scooter also gets a new Class D headlamp that is said to offer better illumination when driving at night. The new edition of the Aerox 155 draws inspiration from the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP YZF-M1 race bike. Thus, it gets an all-black colour treatment along with Yamaha MotoGP branding on the visor, front apron, front mudguard and side panels. The same branding is also present on the maxi-sports scooter’s ‘X’ Centre Motif.

The Aerox 155 also comes with a host of features. Key features include Single-Channel ABS, Bluetooth-enabled Y-Connect App, LED headlight and taillight, external fuel lid and 24.5-litre under-seat storage. For better handling, the Aerox 155 also rides on 14-inch wheels and a wide 140-section rear tyre.

Mechanically, there are no changes to this special edition of the Aerox 155. The Aerox 155 is popular in India. Currently, Yamaha offers colour choices of Metallic Black, Racing Blue, Grey Vermillion on the maxi scooter.

Powertrain of the 2023 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition Aerox 155

Powering the Yamaha Aerox 155 is a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve, Blue Code engine with variable valve actuation which is one of a kind in the segment. This engine is now E20 fuel compliant and also comes equipped with OBD-II onboard diagnostics. The motor produces 15 PS of power @ 8000 RPM and 13.9 Nm of torque @ 6500 RPM matched to a CVT automatic gearbox. This same engine is not shared by any other Yamaha scooter, but as we know, it is derived from the R15 sports bike.
