2019 Yamaha FZ ABS design revealed ahead of the launch

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Yamaha is all set to launch a new motorcycle next week. However, amidst all rumours that this will be the new MT-15, new leaks on the internet reveal that this is the next-generation FZ premium commuter, and the front end styling is now seen undisguised.

From the spyshots, one can note the following:

  • New LED headlamp
  • New tank with cowls with mesh
  • Multi-spoke gloss finished alloy wheels
  • Digital instrument console
  • Split seats
  • Short exhaust end can
  • ABS
  • New blue colour
  • Engine finished in gloss black paint

The styling is surely more sporty than the current Yamaha FZ. We’re not sure if there will be two models at launch, the standard FZ and FZ-S. This time, ABS will be offered given the new rules bike manufacturers have to comply with. The FZ is expected to get a single-channel ABS setup to keep costs in check.

Powering the bike will be a 150cc class, air-cooled, fuel-injected motor. We don’t know the power and torque figures for now, and even the exact cubic capacity could be different. Expect a 5-speed gearbox on this motorcycle.

Yamaha FZ has been a very well accepted motorcycle in its class since the time it was launched a decade ago. This would be the most significant update thanks to the addition of ABS in the Yamaha FZ journey.
