2019 MG (Morris Garages) Hector SUV revealed, called the ‘Internet Car’

British carmaker MG Motor, Morris Garages currently under the wing of SAIC from China have revealed images of their first ever car for India. The MG Hector which will be a 7-seater SUV will be launched in the coming weeks, and this car is being dubbed as the ‘Internet Car’. MG Motor reveals that the sales of the Hector SUV will begin from June 2019.

The MG Hector with a 10.4″ vertical touchscreen infotainment system which they call the iSmart will make the car India’s first connected / internet car. MG has worked with world class partners to develop this screen / platform which includes Microsoft, Adobe, Unlimit, SAP, Cisco, Gaana, TomTom and Nuance. All these functions will enable best-in-class voice enabled activation.

MG Motor has also revealed that this touchscreen voice enabled system will be capable of handling the extreme weather conditions in India and will also come with pre-loaded content for on the go entertainment. Also, the iSmart system will get M2M sim card which will allow 24×7 connectivity and also, the MG Hector SUV will get OTA (over the air) updates for the car systems as well.

The MG Hector SUV will come with a range of engine options. While specifications have not been revealed, the brand claims to be best-in-class with space and specs. However, the brand has confirmed a 48V Hybrid engine option and also an automatic gearbox.
