2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 (40 PS) – Full Details Revealed

Bajaj has officially revealed the 2019 Dominar 400. The bike now gets a major revamp and is the most well equipped motorcycle money can buy for under INR 2 lakh. The Bajaj Dominar 400 from 2019 onwards comes with 5 year / 75,000 km warranty as standard.

The biggest change on the 2019 Dominar 400 is the engine. The 373.2cc, single-cylinder motorcycle now comes with a 4V DOHC setup compared to the old SOHC engine. This has resulted in a new cylinder head. The 2019 Dominar 400 produces 40 PS of power @ 8650 RPM and 35 Nm of torque @ 7000 RPM. This is 5 PS more than the old motorcycle which has resulted in a power to weight ratio of 217.4 PS / ton compared to the old bikes 192.3 PS / ton.

The next big upgrade is the 43mm USD front fork along with an all-new exhaust with dual exhaust tips on the end can. Other changes include new LED tail lamps with light guides, new front fairing detailing, reworked digital instrument cluster with dot matrix display on primary and secondary screen showing gear position indicator, forged side stand, new auroral green body colour, new tank pad, D logo on pillion seat, new mirror design with new stalks, bungee straps under pillion seat and some weight saving changes.

The new 2019 Dominar 400 now weighs 184 kg, 2 kg more than the old model.

Bajaj claims that the new 2019 Dominar 400 can sprint from 0-60 kmph in 2.7 seconds, 0-100 kmph in 7.1 seconds. This is considerably faster than the old model given the changes in the engine. The new bike can also achieve a higher top speed of 156 kmph compared to the old bikes 148 kmph.

Launch of the Dominar 400 is later in March 2019.
