2018 Honda Africa Twin bookings open, launched in India for INR 13.23 lakh

Honda has announced that bookings are now open for the 2018 Africa Twin motorcycle in India. With this, a new lucky draw will be conducted and customers could get a chance to meet their favourite MotoGP riders. Bookings are open for 50 customers at the moment, and the bike is available in limited numbers only. Sales & service for the new Africa Twin will be handled by Wing World outlets across 22 cities in the country.

Honda had showcased the 2018 Africa Twin at the Auto Expo earlier this year.

The new 2018 Africa Twin comes with ride-by-wire, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) with 7 levels, lithium-ion battery which results in weight saving. The Africa Twin comes with a LCD instrument display, Showa 45mm front USD, rear monoshock with 220mm rear wheel travel, petal disc brakes, Nissin calipers, ABS and more.

Powering the motorcycle is a parallel-twin, 999.1cc liquid-cooled motor producing 89 PS of power and 93.1 Nm of torque matched to a unique dual clutch automatic transmission. The DCT has 3 riding modes which include Automatic D, Automatic S & manual MT. With these modes, you can control how the engine behaves and decide the power delivery and engine braking. There’s also a USER (Custom) riding mode available.

The left hand side of the handlebar also has buttons to allow for manual gear shifting.

The 2018 Honda Africa Twin has been priced at INR 13.23 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
