Bookings open for Fiat Urban Cross

Amidst speculation that Fiat might shut shop in India, a new development tries to ease things up for the Italian brand. Fiat has started accepting bookings for the Urban Cross for a little over INR 20,000. The Urban Cross is another crossover itireation of the Punto Evo, but a much more glamourized version than the Avventura.

The Urban Cross deliveries to customers will commence from the festive season later this year. It was first showcased at the Indian Auto Expo earlier this year.

Powering the car would be a 1.3L, 93 HP, Multijet diesel engine and the punchy 1.4L, 142 HP, T-Jet petrol engine. This crossover will be launched in Active & Dynamic variants on the diesel and Dynamic top trim on the petrol version.

What’s different:

  • New front grille
  • New headlamp
  • New tail lamp
  • New alloy wheels
  • New body colour options
  • New roof rails
  • Contrast painted roof
  • Touchscreen infotainment
  • Leather seats

It sure is one of the best looking cars coming out from the Fiat stable. But it would be interesting to see how many actually buy it. Sales for Fiat India have been on a low for a very long time.
